Bella Hadid donates humanitarian aid for earthquake survivors in Turkey

Bella Hadid who is a supermodel and activist helped with humanitarian aid supplies on Friday, as she stepped out to deliver supplies to New York City’s Turkish House for survivors of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake.

The 26-year-old supermodel went incognito in glasses and a headscarf as she volunteered to help, carrying a large Amazon box of supplies.

Carrying the boxes with her friend and hairdresser Mustafa Yanaz, Hadid hugged one of the volunteers, Asya Çetin, thanked her, and said she was ready to provide any necessary assistance.

After arriving at the Turkish House in lower Manhattan, Hadid met with Reyhan Özgür, Türkiye’s consul general in New York, and told volunteers at the site, ‘We’re so happy to help you in any way you need.’

Bella’s efforts come just days after a new 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck parts of Turkey and Syria that were laid waste by the massive tremor that killed around 45,000 people.

The 26-year-old supermodel went incognito in glasses and a headscarf as she volunteered to help, carrying a large Amazon box of supplies.

‘We stick together always,’ she said, adding she will return on additional visits.’

Özgür presented Hadid with Turkish delight from Izmir and invited her to visit Türkiye.

Stating that Türkiye is one of her favorite countries, Hadid also took photos with volunteers who have been facilitating aid efforts at the center since the February 6 earthquakes.

Officials said three people are confirmed to have died in the recent tremor after more buildings collapsed, trapping occupants, and several people were injured in both countries.

Monday’s earthquake was centred in the town of Defne, in Turkey’s Hatay province, one of the worst-hit regions in the magnitude 7.8 quake that hit on February 6.

It was felt in Syria, Jordan, Israel and as far away as Egypt, and was followed by a second magnitude 5.8 quake.
