Meghan Thinks Prince Harry Is A 'Shoo-In' For A Grammy For Spare

Meghan Markle and her team apparently think Prince Harry is a ‘shoo-in’ to win a Grammy next year.

‘He’s a natural storyteller, has a soothing voice and even sings on the audio version,’ a source said.

‘Hollywood loves him. He’s got the gift of the gab and a fun sense of humour. He’s the one with the star power. There’s even been talk about Harry appearing on the upcoming Academy Awards as a possible presenter [in March].’

The Duke of Sussex sings a verse of Your Song, by Elton John, at one point in the audiobook when talking about the tribute concert marking the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death.

Harry reveals in his memoir Elton John turned down a request to perform Candle in the Wind – which he had rewritten for the funeral of the late princess – at the 2007 concert because the song was ‘too morbid’.

The source added: ‘It was Harry’s decision to sing Elton John’s song in the audiobook.

‘Who knew he could sing? Meghan thinks he’s up there with President Obama, who won the same award a few years back.’

Harry sings: ‘I hope you don’t mind. I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words how wonderful life is when you’re in the world.’

This year’s Grammy Awards take place on February 5, and those nominated for the Best-Spoken Word album include Viola Davis, Questlove, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jamie Foxx and Mel Brooks.

But Meghan hopes her husband will be considered for the 2024 award, following in the footsteps of Barack Obama.
