Yemi Alade has slammed followers who tried to dictate how she should run her life.
One Twitter user told the singer to release better music this year, not the “pangolo” she has been singing.
Yemi replied: “I have nothing for you, you wouldn’t know a good thing even if it slapped you in the face.”
Another told the singer to give birth to a child, “even if it’s a girl”. Yemi replied: “It’s a New year! Find something new to say you, nitwit.”
Yemi Eberechi Alade popularly called Yemi Alade is a Nigerian Afro-pop singer, actress, activist, and songwriter.
Alade is from Ondo State but was born in Abia State on the 13th of March 1989. As of 2022, she’s 33 years old.
Yemi Alade is from a family of 6. She was raised by her parents. Her father’s name is James Alade and her mother’s name is Helen Uzoma.
Yemi Alade’s father was once a Commissioner of Police. He is from the Yoruba ethnic group while her mother is from the Igbo tribe.
As Alade became popular after winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009, she went on to sign with Effyzzie Music Group and had a hit with her single “Johnny” in 2014.
Her first studio album was released on October 2, 2014, called King of Queens.
She toured different African countries with this album. She then released another one on the 15th of December, 2017, and with this came several endorsements.
Since then she has been releasing albums every other year and she is a superstar now touring different continents of the world.
