The  Royal Family was reportedly ‘baffled’ by Harry and Meghan’s reported demands for an apology from Buckingham Palace in the wake of their controversial Netflix docu-series.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be holding out for the Palace to apologise before they consider attending King Charles’s coronation next year.

But insiders have said the royals are stunned that the couple want to meet to address their grievances, and are ‘refusing to respond’ until Harry and Meghan also admit they have made their own mistakes during the row.

Netflix say 28 million households have watched the Harry & Meghan series so far, making it their most-watched documentary of all time

According to one Royal expert, there is zero chance the Royal family will make the first move in any efforts towards reconciliation.

But the Palace doesn’t seem to be in a forgiving mood with Harry and Meghan, with one source claiming : ‘Who’s apologising to whom?’

Another added: ‘The King does not want to get involved in a public tit for tat.’

Royal expert Nigel Cawthorne said: ‘It’s a bit rich after what they’ve done. For the King to offer any conciliation would be below the dignity of the Crown.

‘Harry doesn’t understand that the relationship with his father has changed. And don’t forget we’ve still got Harry’s book Spare coming out, so things are only going to get worse.’

Reports also emerge that Prince William has no intention of reaching out to his brother following the Netflix saga.

In the Netflix series, Harry has claimed William left him “terrified” after screaming and shouting at him during the Sandringham summit.

Harry also claimed that Kensington Palace ‘lied to protect my brother’ when it issued a statement denying a story suggesting William had bullied his brother out of the Royal Family.
