Despite the continued fallout of Harry and Meghan from their Netflix documentary, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have a pass to the king’s coronation, it has been reported.
The king’s ceremony that will hold on 6 May, is expect to have all family members on a guest list still to be drawn up, but what is confirmed now is that names of Harry and Meghan will make the cut, though they are yet to receive an invitation.
A royal insider said of the king: ‘He loves both his sons.’
The king is reportedly said to be hurt by Harry and Meghan’s criticism of the family in their revelation, but he would not give up hope of reconciliation and does not want to strip the pair of their titles.
Charles and Camilla will be crowned at a ceremony in Westminster Abbey that the palace promises will be “rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry”, but also “reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future”.
May 6, the day of coronation is also the fourth birthday of Harry and Meghan’s son, Archie, this raised questions over whether they would be able to attend.
The public relations and crisis consultant Mark Borkowski said the Sussexes were fighting a “visceral emotional war” with the royal family, but that the only winners would be Netflix.
In the lead-up to the second batch of episodes, it was revealed that ‘the first release’ of Harry & Meghan recorded 81.55m viewing hours around the world after its debut – a Netflix record.
