Infant son of tech boss overdoses on fentanyl at San Francisco playground

The infant son of a tech boss has reportedly overdosed on fentanyl he found at a playground in San Francisco. The 10-month-old infant found the drug as he was crawling around in the playground of an upscale neighborhood in San Francisco.

The nanny reported that the boy, Sena was playing with his twin brother at the George Moscone Park in the Marina District when she noticed him having trouble breathing.

The nanny said, he was struggling to breathe, and had turned blue. She shook him and discovered that something was wrong. According to her, she said ”I saw his face and he was dizzy. I thought he’s not breathing”.

According to her statements, the babies had been playing and crawling on the grass and putting leaves in his mouth until he suddenly started feeling sick. It was at that point that she called 911.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and checked the boy. It was determined that his airways were not blocked, and so they administered a life-saving dose of the anti-opioid medication Narcan, thus bringing the baby back from the brink of death.

Fortunately, he started breathing and crying again within a couple of seconds. The father, Ivan Matkovic made a statement to the San Francisco Chronicle saying ”I just wanted to let people know that along with coyotes and RSV and COVID, this is another thing to add to your checklist of things that you’re looking out for as a parent, because we weren’t”.

Tests conducted on the baby at the hospital showed traces of fentanyl in his bloodstream. While there was no drug paraphernalia like needles or foil in the area, it is believed the opioid can be inhaled in powder form or absorbed through the skin.

It is believed that in the case of the tech boss’s son, the likely exposure was powder, which is difficult to detect. Nonetheless, the tech boss had praised his nanny for her quick thinking and the paramedics for their quick response.
