Alec Baldwin has sued the crew members of the movie ‘Rust’ for their part in the death of Halyna Hutchins. The veteran actor and producer has sough to clear his own name and hold the crew members responsible for what happened to Halyna Hutchings.
Besides the crew members, Baldwin has also pointed a finger at Kenney, the supplier of the gun for the movie, thereby blaming him somewhat for storing the bullets in a haphazard manner.
Halyna Hutching, a cinematographer, was accidentally shot in the chest by Alec Baldwin during their practice for a scene during the production of the movie ‘Rust’. In his defense, Baldwin had stated that he was not aware that the gun was loaded, and is thus not to blame.
Among the lawsuit references was an FBI report that stated that the prop specialist Zachary and the armorer Gutierrez-Reed did not monitor the live rounds on the set of the movie.
Reports have stated that the DA in Santa Fe would be charging both Alec and other that were involved in the movie.
While Baldwin has claimed innocence as not being aware he was handed a loaded weapon, the attorney for Gutierrez-Reed, Jason Bowles had stated that Baldwin was solely to blame and was responsible for the mishap.
He stated that Baldwin had declined training on the cross draw, and had instead, pointed a weapon, with his finger on the trigger. Cinematographer Halyna Hutching had been killed, and Director Joel Souza killed.
While investigations are currently ongoing, there has not been any criminal charges filed yet.
