After taking over Twitter officially after a deal involving the sum of $44 billion, Elon Musk has decided to make significant changes to the platform. With one recent announcement brought to light, the new CEO of Twitter has changed his bio from ‘Chief Twit’ to Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator’.
It is believed that his reason for making this change is as a result of his announcement that said the blue tick that comes with verification on twitter will now cost $8 per month.
The change on his bio is a mockery of those who are complaining on the recent announcement.
The monetization of blue tick is not the only change we have seen so far ever since Elon took control of the platform, as he reportedly fired top executives of the Twitter company including Parag Agrawal, and there have also been reports of him forming a ‘Content Moderation Council’.
This council will be in charge of all contents on the social media. One good thing about his takeover however is the hope that he will be unbanning twitter accounts that were permanently banned.
Nonetheless, by changing his bio, he is clearly urging anyone who has a complaint to forward it to him directly.
While those who get the verification blue tick will receive some sort of priority moving forward, Elon also stated that this monthly payment will serve as a revenue stream for rewarding content creators.
