He died of a firm of Toxic Shock Syndrome caused by Streptococcus
pyogenes. At first, he just thought he had a sore throat. But on May
15th, 1990, he woke up in the middle of the night coughing up blood. He told his
wife that he might be dying, but he didn’t want to go to the hospital due to his
busy schedule.
A couple of hours later, he agreed to go to the hospital by taxi and it was there that multiple abscesses on his lungs were
found. Despite aggressive antibiotic treatments, his organs were already
damaged beyond repair. He passed away the next evening. Had he gone to the hospital
sooner, he may have lived.
Another was Bob Marley. His death, quite drawn out, painful and cleaning him
out financially was absolutely unnecessary.
He got cancer in one of his toes, often said
to be the piggy toe, but that is beside the point. His doctors said it was easy
to cut the toe-off and that was that, no chemo or anything.
But his so-called religion, Rastafari, which
basically tells him to smoke a lot of weed, forbids any parting of your body or
something like that.
Anyways, his
cancer spread out, he sought all con men, charlatans and cheaters in the world
and allowed them to do anything to him, for fortunes of money, but of course to
no avail. He died from cancer, but it must have been dramatically painful and
took a long time.
In 1927, the famous dancer and bohemian Isadora Duncan wrapped a long, flowing
scarf around her neck, and stepped outside. She had a unique sense of style
that complemented her free-moving dances and independent personality. It wasn’t
common for women to drive these days, but she was very modern and wanted to
learn, so decided to take lessons in a luxurious convertible. She must have
looked extremely elegant in her shiny vehicle and bright scarf. The man who was
teaching her to drive suggested she wear a cape to protect her shoulders from
the cold air, but she declined, preferring her long, hand-painted silk scarf
which she draped exquisitely around her.
So Isadora leaned back, her famous smile
gleaming in the sunshine as her friend instructed her how to turn on the
ignition. But shortly after he pressed his foot to the pedal and began to move,
disaster struck.
Her scarf flew behind her and suddenly became
caught in the wheel of the car, the rest still wrapped around her neck. Her
body was dragged out of the vehicle and before anyone could cut or pull the
scarf from her head, she was dead on the road beside the convertible. A strange
and tragic finale.
Had she left
her scarf in her boudoir that day, she would have lived to delight more
audiences with her graceful movements. But instead, she went the way of her
children, who had already died in a different automobile accident 14 years
earlier. She had lost her faith over years of sorrow and struggle and finally
lost her life. But what she never lost, even in the moment of her death, was
her love of fashion.
Natasha Richardson was the actress in The Parent Trap.
Natasha was taking a skiing trip in Canada,
during which she took quite a fall and sustained injuries. When offered medical
care, she refused in the state of confusion she was in at the moment and
returned to her hotel room. She was fine after a skiing accident.
After a while, she got a splitting headache
that declared her brain dead due to an epidural hematoma. She was removed from
life support by her loved ones after she reached back home in New York.
This should be a lesson that medical help offered must never be refused.
