A royal photographer has claimed Princess Diana would be no fan of Meghan Markle because “she’d think she’d stolen her son”.
John Swannell, who has taken portraits of the late princess and her sons, claimed Diana would not have approved of the Duchess of Sussex if she were alive today.
He claims Meghan has turned Prince Harry into a “puppet” and that she had an “agenda” when she married into the Royal Family in 2018.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who share children Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, officially stepped down from official royal duties in January 2020 to move to California.
Mr Swanell predicted Diana would not have been an admirer of Meghan, who he described as an “operator”.
“I don’t think she would have liked her, because she’d think she’d stolen her son,” Mr Swannell told The Daily Mail. “He’s like a puppet now.”
“She was a little known actress and an opportunity came up, and she took it, like anybody would. But she’s a very smart woman, that’s for sure. She’s an operator.”
It comes as Prince Harry and Meghan are reportedly “at odds” with Netflix after the couple backflipped on what they wanted to show viewers in their upcoming docuseries.
The couple last week reportedly asked Netflix to delay the docuseries “until next year” in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were expected to release the show, which was part of a $100 million deal with Netflix, later this year.
But multiple sources told Page Six the couple wanted to make more edits to the show, which would potentially push back its release until later in 2023.
Netflix has now pushed back on the couple’s request, with its chiefs standing by the Sussex’s filmmakers who want to keep the content, a Hollywood insider told Page Six.
