A man fell to his death after dropping out of a hot air balloon in a self-harm incident in Albert Street in Preston in the city’s north-east of Melbourne, Australia.
Emergency services were called to the scene and could only locate his dead body around 7.30am and 8km away from the place of incident in Yarra Bend Park in Fairfield.
Investigation has since revealed that the man fell from an elevation of 460m and that no warning was given to the pilot, the Herald Sun reported.
Power lines have fallen across the road while a white sheet covered the man’s body on the footpath under an SES tent when he was found.
‘The death is not being treated as suspicious,’ police statement reads.
The witnesses/passengers on board still can’t get themselves right after the incident as they are greatly traumatised by what happened and have been offered counselling by the operator, DailyMail reports.
